We use multiple treatment modalities based on the cause of the back pain and the amount of damage, including medications, physical therapy, epidural injections, and possibly surgery.  Surgery is considered in those patients where there is nerve damage or the cause of the back pain is dangerous.  We ensure proper diagnostic testing, MRI and nerve testing, to make sure that surgery would be beneficial.
